What's it all about ?

Children's Services Planning is a process for bringing people together to plan services for children, across agencies and groups. The aim of is to meet the needs of children and young people who are vulnerable, so that they can reach their full potential and be socially included members of the community, as children and as adults.

Who's involved ?

Children's Services Planning is managed by a partnership called the Southern Area Children and Young People's Committee, which is made up of statutory, voluntary, community and minority ethnic groups. The detailed work is carried out in a number of working groups, which are made up of people across agency and type of organisation who have knowledge and experience of the needs of vulnerable children. Of course, this inlcudes the young people themselves, their parents and carers and communities.
