Visual Impairment Strategy

The Board has worked with local providers and service users/carers over the past year to develop a strategy.  It recognises that the provision of services to children/adults with a visual impairment is not exclusively the remit of Health and Social Services.  A number of other agencies have relevant responsibilities.  The need for partnership working across a range of areas is therefore of vital importance.

Following a series of workshops, the outcome of needs assessment highlighted six key theme areas.  The Board has established a Multi-Agency Forum which is made up of 50% user representation to take forward the recommendations.

This work is lead by Marian Corrigan
