Mental Health

The Board has worked with local providers, service users/carers and voluntary groups to complete a “Review of Acute Treatment Services” 2002

This review accepted the need for acute in-patient beds on two sites (St Luke's, Armagh and Craigavon). However, it also stressed the inter-relationship between in-patient hospital provision and community provision and recommended a range of services:

With effect from the 1st April 2009 the responsibilities of the Southern Health and Social Services Board have transferred to the new Health and Social Care Board, Business Services Organisation and the Public Health Agency.
