Internal Audit have managerial responsibility to Director of Finance however they are operationally responsible to the Chair of the Audit Committee.

Internal Audit Mission Statement

To give assurance on the Client Authority's controls designed to achieve its corporate objectives, and to promote efficient and effective operations – to provide Clients with a value for money service in accordance with their needs, to assist management and the Board in fulfiling their responsibilities.

With effect from the 1st April 2009 the responsibilities of the Southern Health and Social Services Board have transferred to the new Health and Social Care Board, Business Services Organisation and the Public Health Agency.
