About the Board
Planning Your Services
Every year the Southern Health and Social Services Board produces its Health and Wellbeing Investment Plan (HWIP), which outlines how we plan to deliver on the key priorities outlined in Programme for Government and how we plan to meet targets outlined in Priorities for Action . In addition to regional priorities, the HWIP also outlines how the Board is responding to local needs and pressures. The Board commissions services on behalf of its resident population by:
- assessing what services people need
- identifying priorities for development and change
- agreeing service agreements with Trusts to deliver the agreed quality and level of services
- closely monitoring the quality and effectiveness of the services that we commission
- planning and developing new services to meet local needs
- One of the Southern Health and Social Services Board's key objectives is to effectively engage with a wide range of service users, carers and interested parties. We actively consult with over 600 individuals and organisations regarding all strategic plans and are constantly striving to improve our consultation mechanisms. We make documents available in a variety of formats, make use of consultation questionnaires, conduct focus groups and establish stakeholder forums. If you wish to be included on our list of consultees or wish to make a suggestion regarding our consultation arrangements, please contact:
