Board Members

Mr Sean McKeever - Acting Chief Executive

Mr McKeever was appointed as Acting Chief Execuitve of the Board in October 2006. He was formerly the Board’s Director of Finance, appointed in April 1995 and was responsible for the Board’s contracting function from 1995 to 2004.  Since 2004 he has been responsible for the Board’s governance function.  Mr McKeever has served on numerous working groups on a regional basis and has extensive experience of all areas of health and personal social services.

Mrs Fionnuala Cook OBE BA - Chair, Southern Health and Social Services Board

Mrs Cook lives in Loughbrickland, Banbridge. She has many years’ experience of public service in the fields of Health and Social Services, housing and education. She is presently a member of the General Consumer Council NI and a member of the Distinction and Meritorious Awards Committee. She is also a member of the General Osteopathic Council. She was the first Chair of the Southern Health and Social Services Council, serving from 1991-2001, and a member of the Acute Hospitals Review Group from 2000-02. She is a member of the Board of Governors of Bridge Integrated Primary School and a member of the University of Ulster Research Ethics Committee. She was a committee member of the local association of the Alliance Party during the period 1999 –2000.

Mrs Coulter was appointed Acting Director of Finance in October 2006. Mrs Coulter was formerly Assistant Director of Finance.

Mrs Paula Clarke - Acting Director of Planning & Performance Management

Paula joined the HPSS in 1991 as a management trainee and has worked in the Southern area at Trust and Board level in a number of different planning and performance management posts. She was appointed as the first head of Modernisation and Redesign in a commissioning organisation
in N Ireland in 2005 and took on the post of acting Director in January 2007.

Mrs Fionnuala McAndrew - Director Of Social Services

Fionnuala began her social work career in 1978 and has worked for a number of local authorities in England in both adults and childrens services. She returned to Northern Ireland in 1996 to work for the Southern Health and Social Services Board and has held the posts of Manager of the Registration and Inspection Unit, Assistant Director of Social Services (Adult) and was recently appointed as Director of Social Services.

She strongly believes in user empowerment, integrated and partnership working and personal and professional development.

Mr Paul McCreesh

An accountant in Armagh, Mr McCreesh is also involved in local enterprise development as a Board member of a local business centre and of Armagh Council's Economic Development Group.

Mrs Eimer Mary Cleland

From Newry, Mrs Cleland has been a practising solicitor since 1967. She was a Non-executive Director of Newry and Mourne HSS Trust from 1994 to 2002. She helped found the Newry and Banbridge branch of the Down Syndrome Association and is currently a part time chair of the Special Needs Educational Tribunal. Mrs Cleland has also served as a governor on the boards of three local schools.

Mrs Margaret Martin

Mrs Martin lives in Dungannon. Since 1991, she has been Principal of St Catherine's College in Armagh. She has been Joint Chair of the North-South Language Implementation Body and Chair of the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment and was Chair of the BBC Education and Boradcasting Council for Northern Ireland and member of the UK Body from 1994-2000.

Mrs Margaret Campbell

Mrs Campbell lives in Banbridge. In 1992, she was a founder member of Banbridge Area Carers' Support Group and has been its Carers, Support and Development Manager for the last year. She was Joint Chair of Banbridge District Partnership from 1996-1997 and a member from 1997-2001. She was a member of the Southerrn Health and Social Services Council from 1992-2001. Mrs Campbell has gained an Advanced Diploma in the Organisation of Community Groups.
